For Suzie Suzie you were a treasure The best dog one could get Filled our lives with joy and happiness So much more than just a pet. You left us far too early Weren't ready to be apart To not have you with us Has broken all our hearts. And now we live without you We've never felt so sad But we must try and focus On the good times that we had You were loved from when Simon first got you. A special dog right from the start Unconditional love and loyalty You found a way direct to our hearts. From Ireland to Spain, you travelled Many times, you travelled far You never were any trouble Such a good girl in the car. You went to sea with Brian On the ocean you did sail We know that you enjoyed it Never stopped wagging your tail Given chance you'd be in the water Enjoying a swim in the sea No matter what the weather Always happy as a dog could be High up in the mountains For miles and miles you went Always so fit and agile Your energy never spent You were always so athletic Any wall or fence you'd climb Usually with Trigger Always your partner in crime! And when you did escape Over the valley you would run Chasing boars or foxes Just having so much fun You loved your tennis balls Never wanting to let go Barking with excitement Waiting for the next throw Always sweet and gentle All who knew you found What a lovely girl you were Such a pleasure to be around You went out on the hillside Sometimes late at night We didn't have to worry Could see your flashing light And if you went too far The "Susie biscuit” bribe Would soon bring you running Safely back inside. It's hard to live without you In our lives a massive hole Left a deep pain within us That nothing can console But we hope that time will heal us We’ll smile and laugh again Remember all the good times But will quietly mourn till then.
