Paddington

We are devastated to let you know that our Paddington passed away yesterday. Having recovered reasonably well from his last surgery almost 2 weeks ago, he suddenly and steeply declined on Sunday morning. He received round-the-clock care, scans, fluids and monitoring across Sunday into Monday with no improvement. We opted to go in and investigate his slowly-shutting-down insides to see if there was any obvious torsions or infections. There weren't. His body just gave up and he never woke up from surgery. One of our team (his favourite care-giver) was with him for the final sedation before that last attempt to save him yesterday. He was calm, he was aware she was there, and he drifted gently off into anesthetic. And that was it 💔 We are in deep shock. We thought we were so close to giving him that future that no dog has ever deserved more. He went through so much and we are broken hearted that he never got his happy ending. So many people rooted for him. So many people sent him care packages. Thank you for this love from all corners from him. We will forever wish it hadn't ended like this. We love you so much brave, darling Paddo, RIP soft man.
